It had been a long week, and each day seemed more exhausting than the one before. There was so much work, so many responsibilities and pressures coming from everywhere, and I felt increasingly tense. First, the pain began in my palm, then moved to my elbow, and then it spread to my shoulder. My neck became stiff, and on top of everything, I began to experience unusual swelling and bloating in my abdomen. I felt weak, my vision began to darken, and then I started seeing flashes of light. I broke out in a sweat and thought I was going to faint.
I prayed and anointed myself with oil, and I felt a little better, but every movement was still painful. I could barely get dressed, and everything felt too tight. I put on a loose shirt so that no one would notice. All I wanted was to lie down and sleep – I felt completely exhausted. We were supposed to have a rehearsal with the worship team, followed by the church service. I went with the hope that after the rehearsal I could ask a doctor friend what I could take, perhaps something natural that might help me.
The rehearsal began. One song followed another, and the atmosphere completely changed. The heaviness disappeared. We surrendered ourselves to God and worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ with joyful hearts. Time flew by. The rehearsal ended, followed by the church sermon, and throughout it all, I had no problems at all. The pain was gone. The swelling and exhaustion had disappeared as well. I felt as though I had just returned from a vacation.
This was not the first time I had found myself in a situation where things felt overwhelming, where I was in pain, or simply did not know what to do. In those moments, I simply surrender and worship the Lord Jesus Christ, and He, in His miraculous way, works everything out perfectly. Sometimes, simply being present at a church service, worshiping, and listening to a sermon from our Pastor Konstantin can bring healing and provide answers to the many questions that trouble us.
We have many such examples in the Scripture, and one of my favourite’s is found in the Book of Acts:
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains came loose.” – Acts 16:25–26
